Rungster WoodWorks

When I was a kid I remember getting to help my Grandpa in his wood shop. It was always my dream to be able to have the skills and knowledge to build what he did.

When I married and bought my first house, I saw the single-stall garage as my potential starting point. My wife, however, saw it as the resting place for her car. I started with a cheap circular saw and a small chop saw that cost me $15. With these tools, I made my first project - some truly terrible bird feeders I gave as gifts.

Fast-forward a couple of years, and my skills and knowledge have grown significantly, along with my arsenal of woodworking tools. My wife was kind enough to give up her idea of our single-stall garage to let me pursue my dreams.

When we discovered she was pregnant with our first child, I knew I needed more than a regular job. I needed something that I could build and succeed in. Working full-time and building this business was challenging to juggle while raising a newborn. My job got increasingly stressful, taking up much of my time. I put my woodworking on the back burner while we moved homes, and I focused on my job.

With the new house, we finally got a two-car garage, so my wife can park her car inside at night, and I have more room to work by pulling her car out. Finding out we were having a second child was exciting, but the thought of having even less time to build my dream was always there.

I knew woodworking was my passion, so I prayed that God would show me His plan. Shortly after, I lost my job. I took this as a sign to enter the woodworking business full-time and pursue my dream.

I welcome you on my journey, and thank you for checking out Rungster WoodWorks! God Bless!
